§ 1-15. Applicability of Code to city.

The provisions contained in chapters 3 and 18 of the Code of Ordinances shall not apply to operations, activities and events sponsored or conducted by the city if the city council determines that the operation, activity or event will be for the economic or social benefit of the city. No such event may be sponsored in the name of the city for the sole benefit of any other person, corporation or entity.
