§ 23-39. Backfilling.

  • Fine materials, free from lumps or stones, shall be thoroughly compacted around and under the substructure to the level of the subsurface of the pavement. Broken pavement, stones, roots and other debris shall not be used in the backfill. Backfill, when complete, must meet the requirements for backfill set out in the standard specifications of the city prepared by the director of public works.
