§ 24-5. Amount of taxes owed before notice sent.

The tax collector/assessor of the city may not send or cause to be sent to any taxpayer a tax bill for any property taxes, either real or personal, until such time as the total amount of unpaid taxes owed by the taxpayer for the specific property, either real or personal, shall amount to five dollars ($5.00) or more. Penalties and interest on the unpaid taxes shall not accrue during the period when the bill is not sent because of the provisions of this section.
