§ 17-53. Same—Application; fee.

  • (a)

    Any person desiring to operate a gun range in the city shall make application for a permit to do so to the chief of police. Such application shall state:

    (1)

    The name of the applicant. If the applicant is a partnership or corporation, the names of all partners and officers shall be given.

    (2)

    The location at which the gun range is to be operated.

    (3)

    The person or persons who shall be responsible for the operation of the gun range.

    (4)

    Whether the gun range shall be used for pistol, shotgun or rifle shooting or any combination thereof.

    (5)

    What precautions shall be taken to protect life and property in the area surrounding the site upon which the gun range shall be operated.

    (b)

    Attached to the application shall be a sketch or diagram showing the general proposed layout of the range including firing pads, benches or locations, embankments or other material to be used to prevent bullets or shot from going on or over other property, and generally the location and nature of surrounding property.

    (c)

    Said application shall be submitted to the chief of police in duplicate and there shall be tendered with the application to defray a portion of the expense of inspection and investigation of the proposed gun range a permit fee in the amount of twenty-five dollars ($25.00). Said fee shall not be required of bona fide nonprofit or beneficial organizations or associations.
