§ 17-54. Same—Investigation by chief of police; report to city manager.
Upon receiving the application for permit to operate a gun range, the chief of police shall cause an investigation to be made in connection with same and report the findings regarding the application to the city manager within fifteen (15) days from the date of application. The chief of police shall have the right to solicit findings and technical data from any other department of the city in preparing such report. In said report, the chief of police shall make specific findings and recommendations relative to safeguards necessary to the protection of life and property in areas near to the proposed gun range, including the necessity for construction and maintenance of walls, embankments or other material impenetrable by bullets or other missiles, and the height, length and width thereof necessary to the operation of the proposed gun range so as to be entirely harmless to any person whosoever.
