§ 23-29. Same—Fee; deposit for repairs.

  • (a)

    Fee: A permit fee shall be charged for the issuance of an excavation permit and the inspection of same in the amount of five dollars ($5.00) for each permit.

    (b)

    Payment in advance; deposit for repairs: The application for an excavation permit shall be accompanied with a cash deposit adequate to cover permit and inspection fee of five dollars ($5.00), plus the following charge as computed by the director of public works for repairs to the excavation:

    $2.00 per square foot—Concrete pavement
    $1.00 per square foot—Asphalt pavement
    $0.50 per square foot—Gravel

    (c)

    Exceptions: Where excavations are made by public utility companies operating under a franchise issued by the city, under the supervision of the department of public works, a permit may be granted without making such advance payments. Such companies shall be billed monthly for said permits and repair costs, so long as bills are paid within thirty (30) days after date of billing.
